I have no idea why I painted these… but it was fun. Sure some of them are shite. There’s a couple in here that I’m really REALLY proud of though. I have great friends.

Ma face is oan a wa’!

In what is basically a swanky off licence as well. Very fitting.

Great work by Revgoomba

Watched Schindler’s List for the first time in about 7-8 years tonight. It’s still a very powerful, moving film. That shower scene…. I’m actually off to Krakow in March, already got a trip to Auschwitz arranged and I should have time to fit in the Schindler factory which is now a WW2 museum.

Finally made it into the Louden Ibrox yestderday as we went on a subcrawl. I havent been in since it changed from The Stadium Bar cause I can’t be fucked with it on match days as its always mobbed.
Me and my mate were happy to find Marco Negri!

My band played their first gig in a year last night at Stereo in Glasgow and I can honestly say it was one of the best we have ever played.

We had a good size crowd and it’s a proper big, raised stage with a dry ice machine which made me feel like a genuine rock ‘n’ roll star for 40 minutes.

Come see us when we play at Audio (used to be Rockers) in Glasgow on the 7th of December if you want to experience True Scottish Indie Rock in the flesh!

PROJECT 02 - in progress…

Description:
25 different tracks all written, performed and recorded by friends each given nothing but a song title to get them started. Free to work with others they were asked to submit an audio file and a photograph which resembled a particular letter (this formed not only the single artwork for their track but assembled together created an album cover for the playlist).

Artists:
John Maguire, Stuart Howie, Thomas & John Gallacher, Snuffs McShuggy, Kevin Smith, Dougie Electrafrench, Ian Beveridge, Ronan McMacken, Adam, Sharon, Gavin, Lauren & Aimee Baird, Jennifer Fairgrieve, Annie MacFarlane, Emma Fairgrieve, Scott Watson, Stephen Maguire, Gerry Franchetti, Bry Simpson, Bob, Margy & Joe Bell, Leigh Mills, VAGUE ( ) SPACE, Alastair Buckle, Martin McGookin, Richard Cassie, Andrew Dobbie, Martin Montgomery, Grant Kerr, Graham McKinlay, David Sprott, Brendan O’Hare, Nicola Rainey, Susie Robertson, Olivia Kirtley, Jen Balfour.

Notes:
A truly incredible project which each and every participant should be insanely proud of. Every track is unique in style, genre, everything… it’s just fantastic to be able to hear something so creatively personal and in such abundance. Sure there are a few musicians in there but there’s also many people who have not only never written a song before, but never actually played an instrument or had any previous musical inclination. Even the people involved who are musically minded, it was great to hear them create something which wasn’t what they normally create; experimenting with new ideas, techniques and styles. Fantastic!

A while back my friend started a rather ambitious project, to get all his friends to record a song.

Results were wildly different but all amazing. I was invoved it two. My homage to Black Sabbath and Candlemass with Join Forces and also in my band Vague ( ) Space with our song Strength In Numbers. Enjoy!

Found something interesting while cleaning out some old stuff back at my parents. This is a ticket from a beam back game at Ibrox.
Before Sky tv was as widespread as is it today Rangers used to sell tickets to come watch away games on the big screens in the ground. To be honest it wasn’t really that great as you got a cramped seat and a sore neck from twisting round to look at the screen nearest you. But it was an interesting experiment.
This ticket is important however as quite a few thousand of us packed into Ibrox that day due to it being the final day of the season and we still held out hopes of making it 10 in a row if Celtic slipped up in their game against St Johnstone.
Sadly despite us winning 2-1, Celtic won 2-0 and lifted the SPL trophy that season denying us a record breaking 10 league titles in a row.
Still it was onwards and upwards after that as Walter Smith stepped aside to make way for a certain little Dutchman.

This is a documentary about a comic book artist called John Hicklenton and his battle with Multiple Sclerosis. I watched this when it was 1st broadcast back in 2009 on Channel 4 and found it moving simply because I was a fan of the mans work for 2000 AD.

Since then I’ve had a close friend who has been diagnosed with MS so I decided to seek this documentary out again. It’s a much tougher watch this time round.

I recognise some of the symptoms from 1st hand experience and it puts a completely different perspective on the documentary. I really did find from about 35 mins onwards pretty hard going this time.

I would still recommend giving this documentary a viewing as it’s a testament to John’s work that despite this horrendous fight he was still able to produce great art including the utterly bizarre and twisted Blood of Satanus III: The Tenth Circle for The Judge Dredd Megazine back in 2007.
